Jenny Lord (Jan. 24, 1958-June 6, 2009)

Today is Mother's Day and to honor my mother I ran 51 minutes. Fifty-one was her age at her passing. My Mom lost her battle to lung cancer June 6, 2009. It was hard, I was newly wed with my first child on the way. As I am learning first hand now, there is no such thing as a perfect parent, and neither was my Mom, but she had some qualities about her that I loved. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to forgive her before she died. The morning of her

passing she died holding my hand. She waited till her last sister came into the room to take her final breath.

I feel this is a great way to honor her by running. She is a piece of me and I use my lungs to run. So today I breathed for my mother or maybe she breathed for me.
